Introducing ourselves

Hello!

A new chapter in science-based skincare is being opened by a newly launched Hungarian brand, TuumBiome , which applies the results of world-leading bacteriophage research to the care of problematic skin. The brand's flagship, Acne Care Phage Gel , is the first Hungarian cosmetic containing live phages that specifically targets acne-causing bacteria - without disrupting the skin's natural balance.

TuumBiome is founded by biologist Dr. Bálint Kintses , who has been an internationally renowned researcher in the phage therapy treatment of serious bacterial infections for the past two decades. His professional background is a guarantee that the brand was born not out of fashion, but out of scientific conviction : “As a researcher, my job is not to promise miracles. My job is to ask questions and find better answers,” says Dr. Kintses.

Phage technology: nature's answer to acne

Bacteriophages, or phages for short, are naturally occurring microorganisms that only infect bacteria. Acne Care Phage Gel contains live phages that specifically kill Cutibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria – common causes of inflamed, recurring acne. The product does not contain alcohol, fragrances, parabens or other irritating ingredients, so it is safe to use on sensitive skin .

A microbiome-friendly approach

The brand name – TuumBiome – is a combination of the Latin words tuum (“yours”) and the English biome (“habitat”). The message is clear: this is YOUR microbiome, which should not be destroyed, but protected and supported .

“Most acne treatments wipe out everything – including the good bacteria. We think differently. The goal is not to destroy, but to restore balance ,” says one of the team’s co-founders.

A team made of friends

TuumBiome is not a classic startup: the team includes researchers, marketing, sales, and communications professionals - what they have in common is their commitment to clean, sustainable, and viable scientific innovations .
